This session is great for kids and families and teaches how if God is with us, we can face any challenge and how the Bible can always bring us HOPE.
I am sure you are probably familiar with the story of David and Goliath. David was an ordinary boy and Goliath was a giant standing almost 3m tall! Wow! That’s almost twice the size of your mum and dad. Goliath was seen as an undefeatable giant and everyone was afraid of him. Yet David, an ordinary boy with God on his side, defeated Goliath with only a few stones and his sling. David was brave because He knew that if he had God on his side, no one and nothing could stand in his way. The great news is that it is just the same for me and you! If we have God in our hearts and we operate in His will we can do great things!
For today’s fun faith building activity, we are going to test our catapult skills!

Things aren’t always as they appear. If we have God with us, we can do great things! Even though things might seem scary or uncertain we can always have hope and know that God will give us a way out and that He will make us brave and strong.
Fun fact: The air over the newspaper is pushing down at 15 lbs per square inch of pressure on the paper – that’s over a tonne of air pressure! No wonder it wouldn’t budge! It’s just another example of how things aren’t always as they appear. Goliath thought he was a big, tough man, but he forgot two important things – God is stronger than anything or anyone, and David had God on his side!
